What happens when we are too scared to explore [open] doors? What does living bravely look like for me as a mom?
No one likes to feel afraid. Sometimes, that fear makes sense and is useful to help keep you safe. But … sometimes our fears don’t make sense.
Many of the messages about anxiety and mental health tend to villainize anxiety as a huge problem that must be addressed, accommodated, and generally feared.
It’s said that fear isn’t the result of something frightening, but of something that’s unknown. Why is trying something new scary? It’s because we don’t know what to expect.
FOMO – Fear Of Missing Out. It’s so real it hurts sometimes. There are amazing people doing amazing things literally all the time – and you aren’t one of them.
I have learned that every time I feel fear, that means one thing. LEAN IN BABY.️ It’s go time! Because “there is no growth in your comfort zone, and there is no comfort in your growth zone.”
That feeling you get when you are scared is your heart telling you to be brave, even though making the right decision means taking the more difficult path. Take a deep breath. Make a good decision. Call in reinforcements when you need them. Each time you face your fear with calm determination, you become that much stronger.
It’s Halloween and fears have taken center stage. While Halloween spooks and silliness are temporary, real fears and anxieties are anything but fun.
