When I first started traveling with kids, I would come home tired and resentful because it was not restful! I needed a vacation from the vacation. Once I had the mental reset that I still had the Mom role but just in a different place, that made all the difference.
My saggy skin on my stomach reminds me that my stomach grew, and provided life… My stretch marks remind me that it took work for my body to grow a human. Work that left a scar….My cellulite reminds me that it’s okay to be flawed.
Bumps and bruises are part of life’s journey, but oh how we hate them! Let’s check in with our expectations to help keep our minds and hearts in a good place. I’ll give you a hint, if life feels hard, that doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong.
Give 100% and expect 0%. Give without expecting anything in return. Because the leading cause of divorce? Unmet expectations.
