Today’s Book Corner is a compilation of great children’s books about Valentine’s Day. There’s no one way to celebrate, and these books are great examples about sharing love or showing someone you care about them. They aren’t all focused on Valentine’s Day, but are definitely focused on love and caring!
My son received this book at daycare over 2 years ago on Valentine’s Day. It’s still one of our favorites to read. It’s so fun and has lots of cute animals hugging in the way that suits them best. Also helps to bring awareness that everyone can hug differently and may help to have a conversation with your kids about how to adapt a hug for someone with a disability or difficulty.
This book is so much fun to read. As usual, George has the best of intentions, but things get a bit messy when he tries to become more efficient at making his Valentine cards for friends. I’m sure you can picture your own little monkey in a similar situation! The end result is that George has great cards to share with his friends, and that his friends love his efforts. The book linked below even has some punch out cards that you can share.
I learned about this book from @Maistorybooklibrary on Instagram. It’s a cute little book about a T. Rex who gets hung up on making the “perfect” Valentine. Maybe you have a little one that can relate to this? Making Valentine’s cards should be fun, not stressful, so learn along with this little Dino about love and kindness being the perfect gift!
Looking for a change to the typical Valentine story? You will LOVE reading Crankenstein! This kid cracks me up! He’s the anti-Valentine’s Day mascot… or is he? “You would say, Happy Valentine’s day my lovely…. Crankenstein would say, YECHHHH!” Anyone else have a kiddo that would love reading along to this?
There are countless books on love and Valentine’s Day out there. What have been some of your favorites? Share in the comments!
