Happy New Year everyone! We are coming off vacation now, which was so nice to just have a more relaxed schedule. How’s it going getting back on your schedule? What will this part of the year look like for you?
Now is a great time to reassess how things are going and make any needed changes. Curriculum isn’t working? Get rid of it. Yes, I know you paid money for it, but if it’s not working, it’s not worth forcing it. Want to add in extra spelling or a new unit study? Now is a great time to start! Want to find a co-op? Now is usually the time they’re gearing up to start again. Want to go on more field trips? Now is a great time to rework your schedule to include them. Want to exercise more? Now you can rework that schedule to include your kids, and help them develop good habits of exercising regularly.
Coming off a break and getting back to work doesn’t always have to mean things will change. But I have found that they most often do, even just a little.
The pause is a great time to really look at what’s working, what’s not, and how you can make any needed changes. Don’t be afraid to switch things up a bit! Make it a great new year!
