I am a mom with an Early Childhood Education degree, with several years of teaching experience in both preschool and kindergarten. I LOVE teaching, I am GOOD at teaching, and STILL I’m paying to send my son to preschool 3 days a week.

Why?

Because momma, I just can’t do it all. And that’s okay.

I find joy in cleaning. I love turning on a good playlist, and cleaning my kitchen, vacuuming my floors, cleaning out my sink, fridge, microwave, organizing things, all of it, and STILL I pay a housekeeper to come help me deep clean at least once a month.

Why?

Because momma, I just can’t do it all. And that’s okay.

I find joy in going to the grocery store with my kids, having them help me find and pick produce, having spontaneous math conversations, playing peekaboo with my baby right in front of me, and buying them a treat when they’re good listeners, and STILL I use grocery pickup or delivery more often than not.

Why?

Because momma, I just can’t do it all. And that’s okay.

I love spending time with my kids. We love to play outside together, snuggle and watch movies, read books, play pretend, and STILL I arrange play dates for them to be with friends, without me, so that I can have time to rest, rejuvenate, and get things done that I need and want to without interruption and constant chaos.

Why?

Because momma, I just can’t do it all. And that’s okay.

We hear all the time, “It takes a village.”

Are we leaning on our village? Or are we trying to do it all, and feeling completely spent, burned out, and GRUMPY because we feel overworked and underappreciated?

Momma, I want to give all of us permission to give ourselves grace.

We can ask for help.
We can accept help when it’s offered.
We can lean on our village.
Our village is there to help us raise our humans, and they will help us do a much better job than if we had tried all by ourselves.

❤
