“I like myself.

I’m glad I’m me.

There’s no one else I’d rather be.

I like my eyes, my ears, my nose.

I like my fingers and my toes.

I like me wild.

I like me tame.

I like me different and the same.”

This book, I Like Myself, written by Karen Beaumont and illustrated by David Catrow, is one of my all-time favorite children’s books for the fun rhyming, powerful message, and darling illustrations!

Children come into this world with a natural sense of self-confidence. Then after some time, they start to notice the differences between themselves and others. These differences begin to drain them of the confidence they once knew, especially if we don’t teach them to combat it.

I Like Myself

This book was one I went back to over and over with my children, especially when they were in this time of transition. I loved how it reinforced that it is okay to be different. It empowered them to stay confident and bold in their uniqueness. This book is a perfect form of daily affirmations for your littles.

Check it out! I know you and your kids will love it like we did (and still do)! Consider adding this gem to your bookshelf.
