How to Babysit a Grandma, by Jean Reagan
Do you remember having sleepovers at your Grandma’s house when you were little? Or maybe you love that you have grandkids who come to have sleepovers at your house now? This book might be perfect for you, or as a gift to another awesome Grandma out there!
The book goes through the endless, wonderful, fun, creative “to-do” list when you’re having a sleepover at Grandma’s house, (i.e. go to the park, what to do at the park, have a dancing puppet show, etc.) Of course, this isn’t all fun and games, you’re there for business: You’re in charge of babysitting Grandma!
The story is really touching and engaging and I think your kids (and grandkids!) will really enjoy it. My son loves spotting all the fun things on the pages like the dog getting dressed up with bows, or saying I LOVE YOU “without saying a word”. We read this at home all the time, but he gets so excited when he can bring it to Grandma’s house for her to read with him.
And don’t worry, we didn’t forget about Grandpa! For those of you who are on the hunt for some mini-collections, these books have a number of iterations, including How to Babysit a Grandpa, How to Surprise a Dad, and one of our favorites last year, How to Catch Santa.
What were some of your favorite memories of sleepovers at Grandma’s house when you were growing up?
